As our 2025 season wraps up, the South Chicago Wheelmen are proud to look back on a year filled with racing success, new talent, and continued community impact. For more than 100 years, our mission has been to grow the sport, support riders of all levels, and strengthen the cycling community—and this season kept that tradition alive.
Racing Highlights
Our riders showed up all year, competing in nearly 50 race days and earning over two dozen podiums across Illinois Cup events, Fat & Skinny Fest, Derby City, and national-level races. Breakaways, field control, and consistent top-10s defined our racing from spring through fall. With the addition of former national champions and young talent, our Domestic Elite team delivered one of its strongest seasons yet.
Growing Our Community
Beyond racing, the Wheelmen continued our commitment to service. We proudly hosted the Glenwood Academy fundraiser race where we raised $2000 to support their mission, supported Pedal for Alzheimer’s, and welcomed new riders through group rides and mentorship efforts. Community remains at the heart of everything we do.
Looking Ahead
With a deep roster, renewed partnerships, and a century-long foundation, we’re heading into 2026 with momentum and purpose. Thank you to our athletes, supporters, volunteers, and the entire Chicagoland cycling community for making this season one to remember.
Here’s to another great year on and off the bike.
